Endubis (ca. 270–ca. 320 n. Chr.) war der erste Herrscher von Aksum, der MΓΌnzen prΓ€gen ließ. Diese MΓΌnzen erschienen in Gold und Silber und trugen auf der Vorderseite eine MΓΌnzlegende in griechischer Sprache, nΓ€mlich BACIΞ›EYC AΞ§WMITWΝ (β€žKΓΆnig/Kaiser der Aksumitenβ€œ). Auf der RΓΌckseite stand, ebenfalls in griechischer Schrift, BICI Ξ”AXY, β€žbisi Dachuβ€œ, wobei bisi eventuell altΓ€thiopisch ist und Mann von bedeuten kΓΆnnte. Die MΓΌnzen zeigen den Kopf des Herrschers mit einer engen Kappe als Kopfputz, Γ„hren und ein Halbmond sind darum angeordnet. Bemerkenswert ist, dass sich die GoldmΓΌnzen in Gewicht und Feingehalt am rΓΆmischen solidus orientierten.
